Privacy policy
The short version: we collect what we need to answer your sourcing question, we share your contact details with a factory only when you ask for the introduction, and marketing email is a separate choice you make — never a default.
1. What we collect
We collect information you give us directly when you use TRANS·MISSION:
- Contact details — your name, email address, company name and website, country, and a WhatsApp or phone number if you choose to leave one.
- Sourcing requirements — the product you describe, quantities, target prices, destination markets, project background, and any documents or images you upload with a request.
- Account data — the email and password you register with. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes; we cannot read them.
- Technical basics— the page that referred you, the path you landed on, and your browser’s user-agent string, recorded with a submission so we can understand where requests come from.
2. How we use your information
We use what you give us to deliver the service you asked for: compiling your sourcing report, following up on your request, running the supplier checks you order, and operating your account and dashboard. We also use aggregate, non-identifying patterns to improve the product. We do not sell your personal information.
3. When we share your details with factories
Introductions are the point of the service — but they only happen on your request. If you opt in to factory matching, ask to be connected to a supplier, or order a check that requires contact, we share the details needed to make that introduction work: typically your name, company, the contact channel you chose (email or WhatsApp) and the relevant requirement. We do not pass your contact information to any factory you did not ask to be introduced to.
Like most services, we also rely on infrastructure providers — hosting, database and email delivery — that process data on our behalf under their own contractual obligations. They do not use your data for their own purposes.
4. Marketing email is a separate choice
Where we ask for your email, you will see an optional checkbox — “Send me sourcing tips & market updates”. It is unticked by default. Leaving it unticked never affects the service: your report, your account and our replies to your requests work exactly the same.
If you do opt in, every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link (and a standard List-Unsubscribe header, so your mail client can offer one-click unsubscribe). Unsubscribing puts your address on a do-not-email list and we stop immediately. Emails that are part of the service itself — delivering a report you requested, or responding to your enquiry — are not marketing and are sent regardless.
5. How long we keep data, and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as long as we need it to handle your request and meet our legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing hello@trans-mission.ai — we will delete or anonymise it unless a law requires us to keep a record.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use first-party browser storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. For measurement, the site is built to use Google Analytics and Meta’s pixel for traffic and campaign measurement; a consent banner lets you choose “Essential only”, and ads-related storage stays off unless you allow it. We do not use third-party advertising cookies beyond that measurement.
7. Security
Traffic to the site is encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and access to submission data is limited to the team that works on your request. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep the surface small on purpose.
8. Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page; for material changes we will say so on the site. Questions, deletion requests, or anything unclear: hello@trans-mission.ai. See also our terms of service.
